Satoru Iwata on Wii U

Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata talked to the press about Wii U and revealed some new details about the upcoming console. As he stated " The difference in the graphics department between the Wii U and the other   two big consoles, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 is going to be less than the current difference that the original  Wii has from them now." He also said that even though the graphics won't be as good as Sony's and Microsoft's next consoles, it will fill this gap with some new technologies." However Iwata admitted that, if some of the console's functionalities were taken out the final product would have a much more graphical engine but the price would be very high making it impossible for many consumers to buy it.

Online and services
Talking about the online part of Wii U, Iwata said that there is a chance that some online services will be only available via payment, while the rest of the online content will be available for the world for free. Smart move by Nintendo with no following Microsoft's Xbox Live, thus supporting the harcore game alongside with the casual one too.

Microsoft says that it is a copy of the 360.
Microsoft responded to what was stated before by Phil Spencer (the vice president of Microsoft Studios) who said that the graphic capabilities of Wii U alongside with the Pro Controller that Nintendo is making, is just a plain copy of the Xbox 360, without any space for improvement. As he stated " Xbox 360's games are easy to be transfered to the Wii U and that's Nintendo's goal, who has changed the buttons in the controller just a bit. However the Wii U reminds people of the Xbox 360 experience."
